Dear Frontier Friends and Family ~

Change is afoot. Eighteen years ago I crossed the Frank J. Wood Bridge, sauntered into Fort Andross, and started on a journey called Frontier.  That journey was inspired by my work leading cultural expeditions around the world. During those expeditions, I witnessed the profound impact storytelling has on communities.  Stories are the lifeblood of a people – they expose the essence of a culture and provide for a shared identity. In all cultures, stories are shared in the “meeting spaces”. These spaces become touchstones for communities and serve as vital conduits for exchanging thoughts and ideas.

Frontier has ultimately been a journey about building a community space.  It is our sincere hope that after nearly two decades we’ve been able to demonstrate a care for and commitment to creating such a space, and with some blood, sweat, and tears, a dilapidated mill space can become a thriving community hub.  And just as communities are always evolving, so too has this space.  As we look ahead toward the next decade, it is time to hand over this community space to its next steward.  Starting in October 2022, Frontier will be passing that torch, in its entirety, to Nomad

I’m immensely thankful for the hundreds of individuals who helped build this space and the many hundreds of thousands who made it a destination over the years.  Like any grand adventure we’ve traveled up, down, and sideways, but I can assure you we never strayed from our mission and we always sought to expand our impact. Speaking for the many who helped make Frontier a home for you over the years… we hope you were nourished, inspired, and cared for.

Nomad’s proven success, local focus, and commitment to community will enable them to pick up where we left off in the restaurant. They will also be reviving the event venue to host private events and community gatherings again. Regularly scheduled programming, such as film, music, and special events, will be on pause while Nomad gets established and settles into our community.

The next chapter in the Frontier story is uncharted, but our newsletter will remain active to keep you informed. In the meantime, some of our core staff and I will be assisting Nomad with this transition, so we encourage you to sign up for Nomad’s newsletter to get informed of all their future offerings.  Please stay tuned.

Onward…Gil
