"You may know Tom Porter as the English voice on Maine public radio, but he will not be appearing at Frontier in his capacity as a news broadcaster. Tom will be here to indulge his passion for playing Jazz. A former professional jazz pianist in his native UK Tom has played with some of the top recording artists on both sides of the pond. On Friday May 21st he'll be joined by a superb collection of Maine-based musicians. Musical educators Frank Mauceri and Rick Nelson (from Bowdoin and UMA) will be joining him on saxophone and guitar. On bass is the hugely talented and experienced Sam Sherry (and he's not as old as that makes him sound!) Percussive accompaniment is provided by the subtle and creative drumming of Mark Barnette. They'll be performing a mixture of a old and new music, including some original material and several much-loved standards."
